Part of the history of Parc Broekhuizen are 5 historically unique paintings of scenes of the life of the famous 18th century writer, poet, screenplay writer and up until today influential and controversial Voltaire.
These paintings, after being fully restored and replaced into our dedicated venue ‘the Schilderij Kamer’, form the inspiration for the name of our Restaurant. We will gladly explain all about this upon your arrival in Restaurant Voltaire* and of course, we will gladly show you the original paintings in our Painting Room on the first floor.
Only 2 years after opening, the Brigade of Restaurant Voltaire* has already won many great awards including 15,5 points in the Gault Millau 2019 and our first Michelin Star on 17 December 2018. This fills us with great pride and gratefulness. To receive such great recognition, so shortly after our opening, gives us only more motivation to grow further and to provide you with an inspiring, unforgettable dishes combined with great wines in an informal though fully knowledgeable manner.
Our Chefs Thomas Diepersloot and Robert Poel, find their inspiration in the nature surrounding us as well as the inspiring and distinguished cooking style of Jacob Jan Boerma of Restaurant De Leest*** in Vaassen, our Culinary Advisor. Both Thomas and Robert where members of Jacob Jan’s kitchen team for many years and we are proud to present their great talents in Restaurant Voltaire.
