Champagne tasting

Inspired by the Champagne women                                    Parc Broekhuizen | Restaurant Voltaire

Gjørild Brenninkmeijer-Kristiansen loves wine, the attentive experience of tasting a wine made with care and patience. She combined her master’s degree in art and culture management from Erasmus University Rotterdam with the highest degree from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust in London to research “What we want from wine”, which earned her the title Weinakademiker.

Good wine often has a good story and strong roots in the culture from which it originated. Knowledge of this improves the experience.

Especially for March 8, International Women’s Day, Gjørild delved into the stories of the fantastic women who have created and still produce the wines from the Champagne region. The widow Clicquot is perhaps the feminine champagne icon, but fortunately many talents have followed her.

Your independent guide on the route along the beautiful champagnes that these women make will teach you skills that will help you identify the different styles and argue where you prefer. It will be a wonderful educational afternoon:

  • Sunday, March 8, 2020
  • Reception 12.30 pm and program from 1 pm to 4 pm in the Conservatory (1st floor of the Main House)
  • Selection of 5 tasting glasses of champagnes with matching small dishes from Restaurant Voltaire
  • Price per person € 95.00
