Gjørild Brenninkmeijer-Kristiansen loves wine, the attentive experience of tasting a wine made with care and patience. She combined her master’s degree in art and culture management from Erasmus University Rotterdam with the highest degree from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust in London to research “What we want from wine”, which earned her the title Weinakademiker.
Good wine often has a good story and strong roots in the culture from which it originated. Knowledge of this improves the experience.
Especially for March 8, International Women’s Day, Gjørild delved into the stories of the fantastic women who have created and still produce the wines from the Champagne region. The widow Clicquot is perhaps the feminine champagne icon, but fortunately many talents have followed her.
